About Me
My name is Jonah Donahue. I am a copy editor, proofreader, and writer from Duncan South Carolina. I volunteered as an editor/beta-reader for aspiring authors for over two years before finally receiving the training and confidence to start freelancing; During that time, I also started writing my first book, so I had a unique understanding of the issues writers and authors often came across. Since then I have written and edited dozens of works, from novels to product descriptions and blogs.

I am open to just about any genre, but I specialize in Fantasy, Horror, and Website Articles. I have multiple certificates of editing and proofreading, and I am currently pursuing an education in English and Creative Writing.

“I have been working with J.P. for a few months now. He’s edited all of my pieces since we’ve been working together, and I have nothing bad to say about him at all! As an experienced writer, I know there is a system between us writers and editors depending on the style guide we choose to follow. J.P. and I have worked together in creating that system and choosing the style guide for the team we are a part of, and he is a wonderful example of what editors should be…
J.P. has a dedication to not only understanding the style guide and editing accordingly, but also to the intent of the writer’s words. With his deep knowledge of the style guide, J.P. is able to apply those rules to my articles in a way that doesn’t compromise my intent or make me feel bad about my writing. He is straightforward and to the point where he has to be, and then opens discussions when things may alter the intended purpose of a phrase. We work together to understand each other and make the best edits based on that understanding.
J.P. also isn’t afraid to push his writers for better quality work. When he sees that a writer has the skill to do more, he encourages them to do so in a way that makes them feel excited and motivated.
I truly feel lucky to have J.P. on my team and editing my work, and hopefully I will get to work with him for many years to come.
Thank you, J.P.!”
